Yes to everything but 3. You should use the new version only if it will do everything you need it to do, or if you are willing to create things that will do what you need. We are actively working on adding features and plugins, but there is not as much available as there is for classic. If you use the new version you will probably end up with something that can do everything you want eventually, but if you use a lot of plugins in classic it may be a while.
