Is there a way to successfully write the following:

And have the following result?:

2. Two
Code Block
3. Three
--- snip 8< ---
I was unable to successfully implement Eric Shulman's suggestion from a few
years (the {*{span{ {{{ ... }}} }}}* thingy).
