I created a basic test tiddler called ThisIsATest. Here is what is in it:

Let's see what this does.

#Line 1
#line 2
#line 3

*Bullet 1
*Bullet 2
*Bullet 3

When saved, it displays as this (as expected):

Let's see what this does:

   1. Line 1
   2. line 2
   3. line 3

   - Bullet 1
   - Bullet 2
   - Bullet 3

Then in another tiddler I have this line:

Here comes the pop-up: <<showPopup tiddler:ThisIsATest>>

When I click on it, this is what is displayed (since I can't capture the
pop-up to cut and paste it, I'm typing it in by hand, and it does reflect
the indentation that takes place):

Let's see what this does:

a. Line 1
b. Line 2
c. Line 3

o Bullet 1
o Bullet 2
o Bullet 3

Now, "a", "b" and "c" are what are expected in the second level of an
ordered list. Likewise, the open bullet symbol is used in the second level
of an unordered list as opposed to the filled bullet on the first level.

For testing I created second levels in both sets of lists in the
ThisIsATest tiddler. "a", "b" and "c" in the tiddler become "i", "ii" and
"iii" when called in the plugin, and likewise the bullets in the unordered
lists are filled square ones. This confirms that all lists appear as if
they were one level lower when called via the plugin.

So, why do the perceived level of lists change when they are called up in
the ShowPopupPlugin?
