Is it an Android? Google made changes in Kitkat 4.4 that prevents apps from
writing to the external SD card. Lot's of people are complaining about
their favorite apps no longer working properly, but it's not the apps
fault.

This is why I fastidiously refuse to upgrade my OS. With android 4.2.2
Firefox 30, and TiddlyFox 1.0alpha18.1-signed I am able to read/write to
the external SD card.
