One thing I learned recently about TiddlyWiki, which might be relevant, is 
that if you apply a personalised colour to a tag using $:/TagManager, a 
tiddler is generated automatically for that tag if there isn't already one, 
with nothing else in the new tiddler but the *color* field (and, or course, 
the *title*). Don't know if that helps at all.
