Just to be clear, the issue here is that when one creates a Dropbox link for a file, the link only provides access to that one file, and not to any other files in the same directory. That's why the images don't work.
The workaround is to share the wiki via your Dropbox "public" folder. It used to be the case that only very old Dropbox accounts had access to this feature, but it has recently been made available to all users: https://www.dropbox.com/enable_public_folder Best wishes Jeremy.
