While that may sound deverloperish, it is actually quite simple to create a 
GitHub account only to then open an issue at that repository... which woud 
notify the dev directly, assuming he is watching is repositories.

I have never tried to work with it, but this appears to be an issue of the 
visjs timeline module itself. This issue at the project's repo might give 
you a clue as to how to get to the proper dates for anything BCE, 
potentially:
