As I hope everyone knows, tiddlyspot.com <http://tiddlyspot.com/> was once created by Daniel and Simon Baird and they're still hosting it. A fantastic service that has become a cornerstone in the TW community - not to mention a fantastic display of generosity!
I use it for my everyday TWs but where it is truly unbeatable is for testing stuff, experimenting and demoing. There are vague rumors that Daniel and Simon will update TiddlySpot to allow direct creation of TW5 versions (they didn't exist when TiddlySpot was designed)... but until then, we're stuck with the workflow of having to first register a tiddlyspot and then upload a TW5 to overwrite it. This is where the following might be useful - it is a slightly modified version of what I use for my "standard template" to quickly create a new tiddlyspot: http://quicktiddlyspot.tiddlyspot.com/ Go there NOT using Firefox. Firefox browser unfortunately doesn't work for your first upload to tiddlyspot (after that it does work). So use e.g Chrome or Safari when you want to create a new TiddlySpot. You'll see tiddler $:/EmptyStart You can either import this tiddler to some other TW that you modify to be your default TW setup - or you can use $:/EmptyStart right there at http://quicktiddlyspot.tiddlyspot.com/ So, to create a new tiddlyspot you do't have to actually go to tiddlyspot.com. Instead you go to quicktiddlyspot and fill in the fields. It has a clipped iframe so it creates the new tspot when you (there) click "Create". Then continue to fill in more info and upload it to that just created tiddlyspot.... and then click the link to go there. In the new tiddlyspot you'll once again be met by this $:/EmptyStart where you can tweak and then delete that tiddler as you don't need it anymore. It's more practical than pretty. Just like my aunt Martha. <:-) P.S Nooo... I'm just kidding about aunt Martha. She's has practical talent at all. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group.
