If you would not mind using a tag in tiddlers that you do not want to show
subtitle you could create a tiddler tagged $:/tags/Stylesheet and content
.tc-tagged-nondates .tc-subtitle { visibility: hidden;}
nondates is just an example, use what you like.
Subtitles are not removed just not visible.
