One of them will be a simple "client" plugin, which acts as a simple couchdb client, without local storage. There is a Sync adaptor for couchdb(https://github.com/wshallum/couchadaptor, ), but Noteself has more features. One of them is that you can have several databases on the same wiki, and replicate to and from several different server databases, in the same or different servers. My plans for the "blog" edition includes a configuration tiddler to specify the sources, one or several.
