I think I understand what you are trying to say, but I think you need a different example! In English Journal is a "Sammelbegriff" (based on your name and location I infer you are German) and thus necessarily implies a plurality/collection. A proper taxonomy/naming scheme for a Journal entry would, in fact, be something like "journal entry" -- but that starts to get long and most would probably just tag it "journal" . . . This whole singular vs. plural naming issue is a point of constant debate with DB "experts." Over time we have vacillated between plural and singular for table names but have consistently chosen *singular* for field (i.e. column) names -- as each record should represent a single entity.
