Try changing .leftmenuwrapper {position:fixed} to
.leftmenuwrapper{position:absolute}. Since you already have a parent
container with positioned relative to screen, the children can be
positioned as absolute.
I see you already have taken care of the chrome side of things. Clever.
PS: You need not give an email id when signing up for reddit. You can
always add it later, or never if you wish you keep your personal details
hidden. try signing up without an email id and do post.
