The checklist macro needs a place to record a lot of things about the state of the checklist. So I chose to use a tiddler for this task. I called it "state" tiddler because it's there that the state of the checklist is maintained. If you want you can display the state tiddler of a list and see what happens when you check an item, or enable another one or disable, or even edit an item.
