Mark, In TWC the zoom amount of the browser had an effect of the exact display. A Zoom in or out would change the number of borders you could see. I don't know if this in relevant in TW5 because its responsive.
Sometimes my table design was perfect, only I had a zoom out that was too great the boarders were not displayed.
