Google Groups is a quagmire. Posts get lost very quickly. And if you only use normal words in the title of a thread it can be VERY difficult to find them later. Despite Google being the premiere search engine, on Google Groups its awful. Very unreliable & quirky.
Sometimes I want to be able to find a post/thread later. By trial and error I worked out that if you use a UNIQUE word or two in the post title you can search to find it later fairly accurately. For instance I titled a post way back: "HREF Linking Revisited (aka -- Houston, I have a problem.)" Typing into the Google Group search "Houston, I have ..." brings it the top of the list most of the time. Similarly for: "Positive Assertions In One Sentence ... (aka Saying Succinctly What TW Is About ...)" searching on "Saying Succinctly" brings it up usually. Just a tip if you ever need find your own initiated threads later -- use a weird word in its title.
