Hello Old Friends:

I've recently taken on some new responsibilities at SUNY Polytechnic
Institute that will prevent me from teaching my class that uses TiddlyWiki
as a learning platform to engage students in hypertextual thinking and
writing. Some of you may have seen the platform I use to teach:
DesignWriteStudio <http://designwritestudio.com>.

Briefly: the class is usually offered in the Spring semester at SUNY Poly,
which runs from Jan to May. It approaches hypertext from a theoretical and
design perspective, largely driven by the work of Ted Nelson. It offers
TiddlyWiki as the platform which comes closest to Nelson's vision of
hypertext. No prior knowledge of HTML or TiddlyWiki is required of the
students. They work through a series of exercises, and then produce final
projects (you can review the Spring 2018 projects
<http://designwritestudio.com/#Spring%202018%20Studio%20Presentations> if
you'd like). The course is 100% online, and can be 100% asynchronous, but
can also include synchronous components if desired (time zones: most
students are in US eastern time zone). The course is offered online in our
graduate program, a in Information Design & Technology
<https://sunypoly.edu/academics/majors-and-programs/ms-information-design-technology.html>
 and
our undergraduate programs in game design and information design. We will
be looking for an adjunct faculty member (PhD or ABD preferred, Master's
required) to teach it next Spring. I'd be glad to talk about the course
with anyone interested in teaching it -- drop me an email at
[email protected] and we can go from there.

Thanks!

//steve.
