Hi Michael Basic authentication doesn’t properly define a way of logging out. Browser behaviour is inconsistent, but closing a browser window will generally clear the credential cache.
I have explored some hacks (eg https://tuhrig.de/basic-auth-log-out-with-javascript/ <https://tuhrig.de/basic-auth-log-out-with-javascript/>), but I haven’t found a technique that reliably logs out without prompting the user for credentials.
