Caro Jeremy I think TonyM is pointing to something here that is very useful to have out-of-the-box.
A common Use Case: I often want to point to a specific Tiddler to illustrate/isolate/riff-off ONE thing. Single Tiddler mode WITHOUT ANY CRUFT (menus) seems the best way. 1 - it simplifies styling for multiple device types; 2 - it gives instant focus to the issue at hand; 3 - it might encourage development of TW that aim to deliver exact items, but are simultaneously a repository of many. 4 - one could have navigation, but embedded in *that tiddler. *5 - design wise I think its more congruent to conceptualise "Single Tiddler Mode" as closely visually approximating SINGLE PAGE MODE (i.e there are no sidebars, linking is all internal to it).
