Just for sake of example you might find Simon Kellner's DailyTasks 
graphical interface interesting. It gives a visual representation that you 
can click to show an aim acheived or not for a time period. Its NOT an 
exact fit to what you are doing but I think you may find how the "visual 
toggling" works interesting.
