I have been using (getting used to) Firefox Multi-Account Containers <https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/multi-account-containers/> which allows you to have different accounts assigned to color-coded tabs. It doesn't use Firefox Profiles, but the result is similar. You can setup a container for each of your gmail accounts for example and have them each open in a tab. Long-click the "add a tab" button to select the account the new tab is opened for.
