Jed & Bob
I'm writing this here for lack of anywhere else to put it. Its too
exploratory for a GitHub issue. Its too off-topic for one of your Bob
threads.
I'm using Bob with great gusto. The recent addition of "editionsPath" was
great. I was in love with it for a week then I hit a limit.
The problem is I don't think I need more "wiki editions". What I need is
something more like "template wikis". That would be something like
"editions" by editable in the normal way. The problem with editions is you
can't directly edit them in Bob.
But what I do, in practice, is constantly refine wiki to work smarter for
my needs. Those functional enhancement in a "work-in-progress" I want to be
able to transfer to a "template version" of that wiki so any later wiki I
make with similar functionality will benefit.
I hope you understand the point. (1) Wiki editions on the "editionsPath"
are cumbersome to update; (2) Wiki I want as "templates" can be easily
made and maintained but not easy to make a new wiki of.
Queries...
- Not sure if its at all possible but could "editions" on the
"editionsPath" be BOTH editions and normal Wiki? That you could edit them?
- Or, just as good, that you could designate a normal bobWiki as a
"template", editable in the normal way, but which can also be cloned easily
to a new Wiki?
Please ask if this is unclear.
Best wishes
Josiah
