Isn't the loopback address ::1 ? 

I used ::1 and then in the browser used:

http://[::1]:8080

This seemed to work

I imagine someone who knows more about ipv6 will be along to better explain 
things.

(actually I used port 8090 because I didn't want to collide with existing 
server, but the same idea).
