I just noticed that the latest beta of FF3.1 includes a feature called "Web Workers" which boils down to executing JavaScript by background threads without blocking the UI.

I'm thinking of stuff like loading plugins (TableOfContentsPlugin for example has been calculating quite a lot the last time I tried it), saving/loading or expensive rendering-tasks... What do you think of this?
