I just noticed that the latest beta of FF3.1 includes a feature called
"Web Workers" which boils down to executing JavaScript by background
threads without blocking the UI.

https://developer.mozilla.org/web-tech/2008/12/04/web-workers-part-2/

Just to get these thoughts in my head out to a broader audience than
just myself I'd like to ask if you think if it would be possible or
make any sense to lay off work in TW to background threads?

I'm thinking of stuff like loading plugins (TableOfContentsPlugin for
example has been calculating quite a lot the last time I tried it),
saving/loading or expensive rendering-tasks...

What do you think of this?

PS.: Yes I know, this is maybe not the wisest thing to do concerning
cross-browser-compatibility, but I'm just spinning ideas...
