Okay, I discovered that jQuery doesn't work on the S60 browser. Someone
has filed a bug and done some work on changing it to get some of the
unit tests to run, but I think it's a lost cause.

I asked a question on stackoverflow:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1032180/saving-a-file-with-javascript-in-s60v3-mobile-browser
and the conclusion seems to be (the sad truth) that there's no
filesystem access from the browser because the browser can't run Java
applets -- no way around it.

Thanks for your help. In the meantime I've decided to just use my phone
as a "flash drive" and to mess with the export-to-text plugins.
