I think that developing a repository would be a good way to share
information, and assist new and experienced users with finding
scripts, fet, transclusion, plugins ect.

Currently all of the knowledge is dispersed between individual
websites and the google groups, with some help on tiddlywiki.org. My
thought was that with the evolving server side a repository of
modifications could be made by users and authors. (similar to Mozilla
and other projects). Also as a side note a certain amount of
knowledge is lost when a plugin author takes down or loses a site (in
example the twk'd sites were down earlier this month). I also think a
larger portion of the google group requests (IE is their a plugin to
do this) would be able to be handled by a simple search.

In an ideal world it would be a place where anyone could input a
contribution (linking back to their site for documentation, examples,
ect.) I can see where some plugin authors might not be interested in
this (extra step to keep information in more than one place, reduced
traffic to the author's site) but I think the upside would be one
place to send people for plugins ect. (and possibly in the future a
plugin update capability pointing to the repository). Plugins aside it
would be a great place to store all of the google group ideas and
examples that sometimes get lost in the shuffle (and prevent google
group wrapping errors) Also everything would be stored and edited in
TW format.

I am not sure if the core Dev's would be in support of this kind of
thing, or if something is already in the works.
I would love to hear anyone's thoughts on the up and downside of a
more centralized approach.

I am just curious if anyone thinks this concept would be a)
sustainable b) worthwhile

Thoughts?

Mike
