Really exciting with TiddlySpace!!!
Is TS ready for practical use (i.e adding plugins etc) or is it still
far from it?
For managing content that you write yourself, and navigating around in
a wiki kind of way it is pretty stable. As Paul mentioned, there are
still some issues which prevent existing verticals (like mGSD) from
working effectively, but fixes for that are in progress.
I tried to import a clean version of mGSD (formerly monkeyGTD) [1] but
it did not work. Lot of error messages. Would you say this is so
because of some "key error" (causing a lot of consequential errors)
or am I just too eager and should hold it for a year or two? You have
a better grasp of this than I do so I'm humbly asking for your
estimations and comments.
It's hard to say without more details on the errors you are
experiencing. Did they happen while you were important or after the
import happened and you tried to make mGSD go?
The current goal is to have a good stable and useful service by
September 1st. The unknown in the equation of that deadline is how
many of the various large features in TiddlySpace will be included.
Some of those features include:
* space and space membership. conceptually done but could
do with some polish
* space inclusion: whereby content from space X is included
in space Y. Fundamentals in place but likely lurking bugs
* following: whereby you can keep track and be aware of
content that people you are interested in are writing about.
Being experimented with using client side code managed in spaces
but not yet "core".
* activity stream: being kept up to data about stuff you are
interested in in a live/dynamic fashion. Being experimented with
using client code.
In the midst of all that work is "getting existing stuff usable (where
possible)".
