'llo all, On http://tiddlywiki.abego-software.de I found some nice plugins. One of them is the XHTML10plugin, which convert each tiddler to XHMTL, for wich I see personly no use, because it makes your TiddlyWiki bigger and the default layout options are sufficient to me. But be sure to point me out the benefits of it as it is. So why do I mention it? Because the possiblity of converting tiddlers to XHTML can be very usefull. I think it can be a killer feature, if it's combined with a plugin that is usefull for me now: ForEachTiddler.
One of the examples for ForEachTiddler is to export each tiddler as text. If the two can be combined you can get ForEachTiddler export to XHTML. (Without having to convert all the tiddlers in TiddlyWiki itself to XHTML!) Next step is to export the included images. Generate an indexfile and zip everything together to an epub. oh, of course somewhere in the process a popup to fill the metadata would be the finishing touch of course. Wouldn't it be great to be able to export some tiddlers to an ebook? The tag you are searching for could be the title of your book, for example [[My weird anecdotes]] and the title of the tiddlers the name of your chapters like '1. How I was born', '2. The first year: being misunderstood' ,'3. The failure of my first conversation' etc. Including a number makes it possible to define the order in the resulting epub. Acutally ForEachTiddler has a lot of options for selecting and ordering the tiddlers. Epub is just a zip file containing XHTML data, pictures and metadata. And Javascript has a zip class. Of course an option to just export the tiddlers without creating the ebook, would be usefull to. Best would be both options. I don't have the skills to do it, and not the time to develop those skills. But I think since the export function and the conversion to XHTML already exists, the hardest work is done. Javascript has even a zip class. I thought I just drop the idea. Hopefully one of the skilled developers thinks it's a neat idea. :) Or does it already exist and I don't know?
