Hi Shankar, My toolbar command seemed to fit your steps 1-4 description, that's why I mentioned it. If you need a more flexible way to insert text, you should give Eric's plugin(s) a try.
If possible, you could specify your text a bit closer, and we'll see :) May be the whole package looks a bit overwhelming but as far as I know, you don't need to have all the stuff. Just, what you need. For me, it looks like you need: (Eric please correct, if I'm wrong) QuickEditPlugin QuickEditToolbar QuickEdit_custom QuickEdit_customList StyleSheetShortcuts (may be not needed) QuickEditToolbar in your case would contain only the "custom" command.
