It's a crying shame and, for me at least, really spoils the whole point of
TiddlyWiki. It no longer works out of the box and I can't use them on
whatever computer I want without installing something extra first.

Has anyone reached out to the Mozilla devs to get a way to have this
restriction lifted a little? Do they know they have unintentionally ruined
a really useful "app"?

While I understand the security concerns, there must be a way to allow
TiddlyWikis to work out of the box. Perhaps the browser could allow a file
to write to itself instead of the whole filesystem. Perhaps WHATWG or the
HTML5 working groups? Can anyone with knowledge of the mozilla/standards
process submit a patch that would remedy this and be accepted?

TiddlyWiki of old was ahead of its times and it's really frustrating that
browser improvements are actually putting one of the most innovative uses
of JavaScript back 10 years!
