My preference goes like this: I would not want to see a proliferation of media types, however the pragma stuff is _icky_ (i.e. cumbersome). I would prefer syntax: default to correct markdown behavior (no br), if you want brs, use fenceposts of some kind around the block that gets the linefeeds.
