yes ... compiling takes about 2.5 hours with the default pi cpu setting.
It would be interesting to know the time it takes 
with node-v0.10.17-linux-arm-pi.tar.gz.

Overclocking might be an idea too...
I've recently placed some heat-sinks and overclocked the cpu to "medium" 
(+2 volts).
But have not tested the time to build node again with this setting.
