Glad you've got it running. To answer your questions:

* Adding wikifolder support to TiddlyDesktop is probably 2-4 months off;
possibly after TW5 comes out of beta
* As you noticed, TiddlyWiki doesn't sync changes when you modify tiddler
files directly in the file system. It is planned, but held back in the past
by poor Node.js support for watching file directories.
