TiddlyDesktop (TD) info states, that it is compatible with
TiddlyWikiClassic. see: http://tiddlywiki.com/#TiddlyDesktop
So if it doesn't work, you probably found a bug and should report it. .....
but .....

Do you have an overview about your TWc versions. ... <<version>> macro
tells you the version number. ... TD uses a similar save mechanism than
TiddlyFox for FireFox. ... So if all of your TWs save fine with the latest
FF version it should also be ok with TD.

TD uses the same web view, than Chromium browser. So it has access to the
internet and it can act as a browser. But it should be possible, to disable
internet connection.

There should be no problem with TW files. Chromium browser is the open
source version of Chrome.
