I have checked the Precise beta-1 release and it seems that a similar problem happens there as well: nss-updatedb links with libdb4.8, so the NSS database that is created is Berkeley DB version 4.8, but libnss-db, which reads and uses the database links with libdb5.1.
I am aware that nss-updatedb is in the Universe, while libnss-db is in main, but I guess that is not enough of a reason to use libdb4.8, right? Why not use the officially supported libdb5.1? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Tieto, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/731942 Title: nss-updatedb linked against libdb4.6 Status in “nss-updatedb” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Binary package hint: nss-updatedb nss-updatedb in Lucid build-depends on libdb4.6-dev and depends on libdb4.6. It would be nice if it linked with libdb4.8, as this one is on Lucid default install, and grabbing nss-updatedb to a fresh lucid pulls libdb4.6 from universe. I have tested nss-updatedb and it rocks with libdb4.8, so it should not be a problem.
