Sylvain, There's plenty of confusion surrounding the different CIE LAB encodings in TIFF. For this reason alone, it's best not to write any. But you may be required to read them. I think the best way to interpret the various CIE LAB encoding flavors is specified in this post by Marti Maria (Little CMS)...
