Gayathri and anyone else in companies that use libtiff and similar, It would be awesome to have MathWorks join in with the open source community with some positive interactions. I'd be happy to offer MathWorks or any other company my personal advice based on my experience interacting with some OSS communities as someone who is in a large company (Google) and as a board member of PROJ and GDAL. I've gotten to see issues from both sides. Corporate politics w.r.t. open source can take some serious work to navigate.
