Initial setup is here: https://gitlab.com/libtiff/tiff-specification

The initial commit adds the TIFFv6 specification along with v5 and v4 for
historical interest, plus the two additional technical reports.
https://gitlab.com/libtiff/tiff-specification/-/tree/master/published?ref_type=heads,
 plus two supplementary specification documents.

We can also add any additional supplementary specifications here, such as
BigTIFF.

If anyone wants to add anything extra, please either send them to me or the
list, or open a merge request against the new repository to add them. Does
anyone have any specifications earlier than v4?

We can create a Sphinx documentation file for publishing on gitlab.io
<http://gitlab.io/> like we do for the libtiff documentation, and this can then
link to all of the original PDFs, which are preserved intact and unchanged.

I’d also like to set up a companion repository libtiff/tiff-tags which can
contain detailed documentation about the TIFF tags, which if possible could be
based upon Joris van Damme’s excellent work (but which is no longer online).
The purpose of this would be similar—to make a public archive of information
which is no longer hosted by its original authors.

Kind regards,
Roger
