You should use this instead: The process .smtpd. is listening on sockect 10025 \(TCP on loopback interface\) is run by postfix The process .smtpd. is listening on sockec 25 \(TCP on every interface\) is run by postfix The parenthesis need to be escaped since, otherwise, they are interpreted as patterns by egrep. If you don't want to be as strict you could even use: The process .smtpd. is listening on sockec .*25 .* postfix And that should do the trick too. Regards Javier
