My main reason for this is TLS support on Windows. With this little
change I'm able to focus on code (and use autotools + MinGW) and don't have
to hack CMake for GNUTLS support. When TLS support gets ready we can
start work on CMake changes. You are right autotools for Windows will
be decommisioned soon.
