Indeed. I think there is a lot of outdated info in the docs. We
probably need to have a look at that before we do a release.

The SIMD code only works on 32-bit x86 unfortunately. I'm not sure how
difficult it would be to fix it to handle 64-bit addressing. It should
suffice with just SSE2 on that arch though.
