I haven't tested your changes yet, but those errors looks like a
libtool corruption. It generally occurs when you've somehow mixed a
configure generated by one version of libtool with a ltmain.sh
generated by another version.

I'm guessing the code that does autoreconf in xserver/ might need some
more tweaking. An explicit libtoolize is sometimes needed depending on
the structure of the build system.
