I would not call "Standard VNC" "insecure without encryption", as the
only an encrypted salt is returned to the server.

If the new UI does not restrict function of the SecurityTypes
parameter, I'm fine with it.

My only expectation is, that the viewer enables all security types by
default, so that it works with any server out of the box.
