Sorry for late response, I was quite busy. I tested libvnc.so module on ubuntu 10.4 and you are right it currently kills the Xorg server. It seems ubuntu doesn't include following patches for Xorg: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/commit/?id=2f29b163bbdebe384c24f781bb97b446959e8f4c http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/commit/?id=626f97688a89dbc5da80390d822d21b1a737de0e Xorg must be patched to get libvnc.so working. Another solution is to use TigerVNC's x0vncserver to export your desktop. However it is slower than "native" libvnc.so module.
