Sorry for late response, I was quite busy.

I tested libvnc.so module on ubuntu 10.4 and you are right it
currently kills the Xorg server. It seems ubuntu doesn't include
following patches for Xorg:

Xorg must be patched to get libvnc.so working. Another solution is to
use TigerVNC's x0vncserver to export your desktop. However it is slower
than "native" libvnc.so module.
