My mistake. I found the old message where Peter had responded to that question, and apparently I did misread "1.5" as "7.5". I went ahead and removed 7.5 support from the stable branch. Alan confirmed a while back that it requires a much newer toolchain that is available on RHEL 4 & 5, and there are additional problems with building TigerVNC against 7.5 that would have to be addressed (I don't think anyone ever got past the toolchain issue.)
