The old UNIX viewer was unfortunately a dead end. The nice thing about the new viewer is that it's cross platform, so that it works on both UNIX, Mac and Windows. We are aware of that there might be regression in some areas. We will try to adress these in a near future. I recommend that you look through the SF tracker and vote for the features you want, or create new tracker items for features that you miss.
