I use okular for pdf viewing and have found it capable of displaying all I have given it. Adobe's bug-ridden closed source readers are best avoided if possible and in my experience it is possible with okular. It's true it is really annoying to have just one bit of 32 bit software on a 64 bit system the more or less doubles the system footprint and package count.
