I have tried setting up a tigervnc server on a remote host, and am tunneling the VNC over ssh. However, I end up with a VNC window that shows only some kind of desktop background, but no terminal or other GUI elements:
http://mpia.de/~robitaille/tigervnc.png I am using the default xstartup file. I tried changing the end to: #twm & startx & but no luck. Has anyone had this issue before, and if so, how did you solve it? There are some errors in the log file, but I can't figure out what the issue is: http://pastebin.com/Kgq6NQhW For the record: $ cat /proc/version Linux version 2.6.32-279.5.1.el6.centos.plus.x86_64 (mockbu...@c6b9.bsys.dev.centos.org) (gcc version 4.4.6 20120305 (Red Hat 4.4.6-4) (GCC) ) #1 SMP Wed Aug 15 01:33:21 UTC 2012 Thanks for any help!
