I have googled subject message and got many hits which however did not seem to solve my problem. Both server and client are fedora 19 and xfce. On vncserver I get:
[root@epohost etc]# systemctl status vncserver@:1.service vncserver@:1.service - Remote desktop service (VNC) Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/vncserver@:1.service; enabled) Active: inactive (dead) since Sun 2013-07-14 21:58:55 CEST; 14min ago Process: 1418 ExecStop=/sbin/runuser -l erik -c /usr/bin/vncserver -kill %i (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Process: 776 ExecStart=/sbin/runuser -l erik -c /usr/bin/vncserver %i (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Process: 661 ExecStartPre=/bin/sh -c /usr/bin/vncserver -kill %i > /dev/null 2>&1 || : (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Jul 14 21:58:50 epohost.epolan.dk systemd[1]: Starting Remote desktop service (VNC)... Jul 14 21:58:55 epohost.epolan.dk systemd[1]: Started Remote desktop service (VNC). So I believe this looks healthy but no vnc (I suppose it is Xvnc) is listening on the relevant ports: [root@epohost etc]# lsof -i -P|grep -i listen cupsd 532 root 11u IPv6 18142 0t0 TCP localhost6.localdomain6:631 (LISTEN) cupsd 532 root 12u IPv4 18143 0t0 TCP localhost.localdomain:631 (LISTEN) bacula-sd 658 bacula 3u IPv4 18107 0t0 TCP *:9103 (LISTEN) bacula-di 662 bacula 4u IPv4 23421 0t0 TCP *:9101 (LISTEN) bacula-fd 663 root 3u IPv4 19591 0t0 TCP *:9102 (LISTEN) sshd 753 root 3u IPv4 19495 0t0 TCP *:22 (LISTEN) sshd 753 root 4u IPv6 19497 0t0 TCP *:22 (LISTEN) rpcbind 754 rpc 9u IPv4 18308 0t0 TCP *:111 (LISTEN) rpcbind 754 rpc 12u IPv6 18311 0t0 TCP *:111 (LISTEN) mysqld 1028 mysql 14u IPv4 22614 0t0 TCP *:3306 (LISTEN) sendmail 1519 root 4u IPv4 21956 0t0 TCP localhost.localdomain:25 (LISTEN) dropbox 1877 erik 27u IPv4 28497 0t0 TCP *:17500 (LISTEN) The vnc log shows: Sun Jul 14 21:58:51 2013 vncext: VNC extension running! vncext: Listening for VNC connections on all interface(s), port 5901 vncext: Listening for HTTP connections on all interface(s), port 5801 vncext: created VNC server for screen 0 XIO: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server ":1" after 141 requests (141 known processed) with 0 events remaining. Hoping someone may cast some light on this problem.
