Hmm, the pistes only appear at rather high zoom, and are much narrower even then. And they're translucent. And they have a black border. I'd think confusion would be fairly unlikely. I guess if you look at something like this: http://www.informationfreeway.org/index.php?lat=47.0735825867277&lon=9.272302444067611&zoom=14&layers=B000F000F and then don't pay attention to the zoom, you could get confused. But once you have primary/motorway in the same view, or look at the zoom, it IMO becomes pretty clear.
