There seems to be an issue with lowzoom rendering, where colours are lost. I haven't yet looked into that but I'm sure it is a minor thing. Other than that I think or/p is production ready. There are a few very subtle differences between or/p and Osmarender output but they are even less noticeable than the inocnsistencies introduced by different font versions across operating systems etc., so I doubt anyone would even notice which renderer you use.
